As a way to boost domestic travel, the government launched the first state tourism holding in the home of Komodo Island, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
The launch of Injourney Holding was officially made by President Joko Widodo, who presented it as “a state-owned tourism and aviation holding that will focus on developing domestic tourism potential considering that international travel is still restricted”.
According to marketing director of the holding, Maya Watono, the company will focus on attracting 330 million visits of domestic tourists: “We will strive to recover the sector – at least to give a jump start, which can bounce Indonesia’s tourism to its prior condition before the pandemic”.
