The Peruvian Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai 2025 Expo in Japan, has reached an important milestone by receiving its 500,000th visitor in just three months since its opening. This achievement shows the remarkable interest of the international public in the cultural, historical, tourist and gastronomic richness of Peru, as well as the effectiveness of the strategy deployed by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) in this global platform.

The 500th visitor was a Japanese citizen, who received a symbolic recognition and participated in a cultural and gastronomic experience in the pavilion, accompanied by the Peruvian team that represents the country in the exhibition. This figure represents a relevant indicator of the impact achieved to date, and reinforces the projection of soon exceeding one million face-to-face visitors in the Peruvian area by October of this year.

In the place, tourists show great interest in Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, and in the Amazon area, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

As part of this celebration, the Peruvian Pavilion commemorated two emblematic festivities of the cultural calendar: the Inti Raymi and the Feast of San Juan, celebrated on June 24. The day included live artistic presentations, audiovisual projections and a representative culinary exhibition of the Andean and Amazon regions, with the participation of international media and special guests.

The program began with a vibrant presentation of drums and zampoñas, followed by the ceremonial appearance of the Inca and the Coya. Traditional dances such as Lamas, Valicha and Shipibo were presented, which transmitted the identity and pride of various regions of the country. Inside the pavilion, the attendees enjoyed a guided tour, accompanied by a cocktail with typical dishes such as Juane, in addition to drinks and snacks inspired by our traditions.

Complementarily, in the Virtual Pavilion of Peru – available through the official application of the Expo – a digital allegory was incorporated into the Inti Raymi, where the Inca and the Coya star in a symbolic experience in the Peru-Japan link area. This space allows the global public to explore audiovisual and educational content about the Peruvian festivities, reinforcing the strategy of cultural dissemination through digital environments.
