The District Municipality of Machupicchu, through the Tourism Promotion Division of the Sub-Generality of Tourism and Economic Development, officially launched the promotional campaign “Machupicchu Wow”. Taking into account that one of the favorite places for tourists to visit in Peru is the Inca citadel of Machupicchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
“Machupicchu Wow” is an initiative aimed at promoting economic reactivation during the low season, encouraging the visit to Machupicchu Pueblo, promoting the consumption of formal tourist services and strengthening the competitiveness of local providers.
The launch ceremony was attended by the councilors Lic. Héctor Olivera Huamán and GOT Sonia Hancco Mamani, representing the CPC mayor Elvis La Torre Uñaccori, who reaffirmed the commitment of the municipal management with the tourist and economic development of the district, as well as with the strengthening of the work articulated between the public and private sectors.
“Machupicchu Wow” integrates a varied offer of more than 20 formal tourist services, including hotels and lodgings, restaurants, spas, tourist experiences and rail transport services, which will offer discounts and special promotions during the period of validity of the campaign.

The campaign will be valid from January 27 to March 31, a strategic period to encourage the arrival of national and international visitors during the low season.
For service providers, the campaign represents an opportunity to increase demand in low season, improve hotel occupancy, strengthen their positioning and differentiate themselves from the informal offer, consolidating themselves as allies of an official initiative supported by the municipality.
For visitors, “Machupicchu Wow” offers access to special discounts on accommodation, gastronomy, wellness and transportation, in addition to a quieter and more personalized experience, with less congestion and higher levels of organization and security.
With this action, the District Municipality of Machupicchu reaffirms its commitment to local economic reactivation, the strengthening of formal tourism and the sustainable promotion of the destination throughout the year.
