After the National Tourism Conference, on the afternoon of September 24, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Popular Committee of the city of Quang Ninh, organized the National Conference on Tourism Promotion 2026 under the slogan “Innovation – Collaboration – Advances”. The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho An Phong, chaired the conference, which was attended by about 300 delegates from ministries, agencies and companies, both central and local.

The northern province of Quang Ninh stands out for hosting Ha Long Bay – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world.

According to the development plan of the tourism sector whose objective is to achieve double-digit growth, in 2026 the tourism sector aspires to receive approximately between 25 and 27 million international tourists, serve between 150 and 153 million national tourists and generate total tourist revenues of between 43 billion and 47 billion US dollars.

During the period 2027-2030, the tourism sector will strictly adhere to the objectives established in Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW (dated August 22, 2026) of the Politburo: contribute directly with 10-2% to GDP, maintaining its position among the leading countries of Southeast Asia in terms of scale and growth rate; strive to receive between 45 and 50 million international tourists and serve 160 million national tourists, focusing on high-spending and long-term tourists; and achieve total tourist income of between 80 and 90 billion US dollars.

The Director of the National Tourism Administration of Vietnam sets out the guidelines for tourism promotion in the next period.

To achieve these objectives, tourism promotion plays a fundamental role, in line with the essential principle of “Innovation – Collaboration – Advancement”. The conference serves as an open forum for state management bodies, localities and the business community to exchange ideas, discuss and contribute to the improvement of the long-term programmatic framework, in accordance with Resolutions 26-NQ/TW, 80-NQ/TW and 263/NQ-CP; clearly identifying target markets, high-spending and long-stay tourism segments, and potential markets.

Representatives of the business sector contributed ideas to promote tourism and expand markets. The conference also addressed the roles of government agencies, businesses and localities in coordinating large-scale campaigns; removing barriers to visa policy, improving air connectivity, promoting trade and diplomacy; creating products and infrastructure, digital transformation and connecting data between central government, localities and businesses.

From there, the focus will be on linking the promotion with the value chain of the product and preparing for 2027, promoting through direct flights, viable tourist routes, quality standards and competitive prices. Especially important is the early and systematic preparation for important events such as APEC 2027, the National Year of Tourism 2027, as well as a plan for a professional presence at the main international trade fairs such as ITB Berlin, WTM London. The delegates are analyzing a set of solutions for the promotion of tourism in the period 2026-2030.
