The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) and SKY Airline signed a strategic alliance with the purpose of promoting Peru as a tourist destination in the markets of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and the United States.

Peru is characterized by having interesting destinations to visit, and among them are two of the favorite places of tourists to visit in Peru, one is the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. And the other place is where tours of the Amazon River are offered – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

The promotion is carried out through a joint plan that includes advertising actions until June 2026. As part of this alliance, the destination Peru will have a presence in digital media, advertisements on the Chilean television channel Canal 13, in addition to dissemination on the airline’s website and in its email marketing campaigns.

With this strategic alliance, a mobilization of more than 179,000 international tourists to Peru is projected with an advertising exhibition of more than 147 million impacts in the four markets mentioned.

The agreement also seeks to strengthen the commercialization of the country’s tourist destinations through a diversified offer of air tickets. The regions prioritized in this campaign are Arequipa, Cusco, La Libertad, Lima, Tacna and Tumbes.

This initiative is articulated with the global campaign “Peru Wow”, with which PromPerú continues to position the country throughout 2025. This campaign seeks to arouse amazement and admiration among international travelers, highlighting the natural, cultural and gastronomic wonders of Peru in 15 international markets, including the four contemplated in the alliance with SKY.

SKY Airline is a Chilean low-cost airline founded in 2002 and to date, is the second most relevant airline in that market. In 2019, its new subsidiary Sky Airline Peru began operations. Monthly, the airline directly connects the Santiago-Lima route with 93 flights; the Miami-Lima route with 44 flights; the Sao Paulo-Lima route with 31 flights and the Buenos Aires-Lima route with 31 flights.

Importance of prioritized markets

Between January and October 2025, Peru received a total of 2,845,828 international visitors, of which 1,375,975 (48.37%) come from the four markets included in this alliance. These results show the relevance of continuing to promote joint strategies that strengthen the arrival of foreign tourists to the country.

PromPerú, an entity attached to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), continues to promote the national tourism offer through comprehensive actions abroad, with the aim of consolidating Peru as a diverse, attractive and competitive destination at an international level.
