This was confirmed by Veronica Martínez, head of sales of Jungle Experiences Amazon Cruises, the company that offers Cruises through the Amazon, from Iquitos, the largest metropolis in the Peruvian Amazon and the capital of the department of Loreto.

The firm offers 3 types of cruises, the luxury, and two comfort, designed to meet the demands of all categories.

In the Amazon – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature – Jungle Experiences has outings all year round and you can choose between itineraries of 4 days and 3 nights, 5 days and 4 nights, and 8 days and 7 nights.

“We work with the all-inclusive modality, because tourists sleep on the cruise of course,” said Veronica, and commented that almost 98% of the staff is from the area, and knows perfectly each of the sectors traveled.

“We sail the Amazon River and the Pacaya Samiria reserve, which is a protected and virgin reserve, we have many travelers from all over the world who choose us to sail and get to know the Amazon, among them there are Americans, Canadians, Latinos, Europeans and our offer is increasing more and more due to the interest that has been generated,” said the head of sales.

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where the Cruise Ships also enter, is the second largest protected area in Peru (2,080,000 ha). Known as the “forest of mirrors” for its waters that reflect the landscape, it is one of the most extensive and biodiverse flood forests (várzea) in the Amazon.

Regarding how travelers get to Iquitos, Verónica Martinez commented that tourists arrive from Lima to Iquitos by plane, which implies approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes of travel, “and there we look for them at Iquitos airport and take them to our facilities. We have all the logistics, a 5-star hotel and transportation to get there, in addition to the cruises,” he explained.

Martinez also said that the cruise tours through the Amazon, are designed for the enjoyment of the tourist in the most impressive natural lung in the world, and it is also a method to make the place visible, so that we all become aware of the importance of caring for the environment and this wonderful jungle, which we all have the duty to preserve.
