In addition, in economic matters, the expenditure of international travelers amounted to 21,743 million dollars during January-July 2026.

In July alone, Mexico received 8.65 million international travelers and 4.41 million international tourists, increases of 2.9 and 3.8 percent, respectively.
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, reported that Mexico received 59.71 million international travelers during January-July 2026, 7 percent more than in the same period of 2025.
“Mexico maintains a positive trend in the arrival of international tourists and these results allow us to look towards the closing of 2026 with optimism. We are moving towards a historic figure and, at the same time, we continue to work so that the growth of tourism translates into greater economic spills, employment and well-being for communities,” he said.
According to the results of the International Travelers Survey (EVI) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the head of the Ministry of Tourism highlighted that, during the first seven months of the year, the arrival of international tourists reached 28.91 million, a figure that represents an increase of 4.5 percent compared to 27.67 million registered during the first seven months of 2025.
In economic matters, the expenditure of international travelers amounted to 21,743 million dollars during January-July 2026, an increase of 0.3 percent compared to the 21,682 million dollars recorded in the same period of the previous year.
Rodríguez Zamora stressed that these results show the strength and attractiveness that Mexico maintains as an international tourist destination, by registering a sustained growth in the arrival of visitors and tourists during the first seven months of the year.
Particularly, during July 2026, Mexico received 8.65 million international travelers, a figure that represents an increase of 2.9 percent compared to the 8.41 million recorded in the same month of 2025.
In the same month, the arrival of international tourists reached 4.41 million, 3.8 percent more than the 4.25 million recorded in July of the previous year.
The Secretary of Tourism pointed out that the accumulated behavior during the first seven months of the year allows us to maintain a favorable perspective for the close of 2026, particularly in the arrival of international tourists, an indicator that is advancing towards a new all-time high.
“The results accumulated until July confirm the strength of Mexico as a tourist destination and allow us to project a closure of 2026 with a historic figure in the arrival of international tourists. It is a very positive sign for the sector and for the communities that live from tourism, because behind each visitor there is consumption, employment and opportunities for thousands of families,” he concluded.
