The South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the new project that modernizes 23 tourist attractions -including New 7 Wonder of Nature Jeju Island-  across the country as a way to boost domestic tourism after the pandemic.

The main goal is to ensure the safety of visitors and to allow greater freedom of movement at these tourist sites. These makeovers also look to promote access for all, taking extra care to benefit the disabled and elderly, as well as families with babies.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Park Yang-woo, stated that the country “will increase the amount of support funds and focus on developing good tourism content” since a grant of US$206,000 will support each site’s makeover.
