The country that hosts one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature -Machu Picchu and the Amazon, respectively- was selected to be the main location of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” by Paramount Pictures. 

 

The project is framed in the PromPeru’s Film in Peru programme, a strategy to promote the country as a cinematographic destination with the country’s identity promoted at a national and international level. Film in Peru is a platform that showcase all locations available for shooting movies, series and advertisements which audiovisual companies can use for the development of their projects

 

During the official announcement made by Paramount Pictures, movie director Steven Caple Jr. stated that “filming ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ in Machu Picchu is a great privilege. Our goal is to evoke the spiritual connection felt in sacred places like this and enjoy what this great civilization has achieved”. 

 

According to Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Claudia Cornejo, “the shooting of this film in our country will mark a milestone for the promotion of Peru as a choice location in the audiovisual sector worldwide. We thank Paramount Pictures for its trust, as well as the Peruvian institutions that allowed this project to move forward”.
