According to the latest industry report, in 2022 tourism is expected to recover to 70% of the pre-pandemic level in the home of the Great Wall of China, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The report launched by the China Tourism Academy (CTA) estimates that the revenue of domestic tourism is likely to achieve a total of $600 billion, up 27 percent year-on-year, which will indicate a recovery of 70% of the pre-pandemic level.
For international tourism, the report stated that “the number of inbound and outbound tourists in 2022 is expected to grow 20 percent year-on-year, recovering to 20% of the 2019 level”.
China’s tourism industry also elevates expectations thanks to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, an unique opportunity to boost the tourism demand.
