For the city of Puerto Iguazú in Argentina, the film “The Last Giant”, is much more than a premiere in April, it is international positioning, local work and cultural projection for the destination, in one of the global platforms with the greatest reach today.
The movie “The Last Giant”, recorded entirely in the city of Puerto Iguazú during 2025, will be released on April 1 on Netflix, “bringing the missionary jungle and the identity of our community to the world,” said Leopoldo Lucas, president of Iturem de Iguazú.
Directed by Marcos Carnevale and produced by Leyenda Films and Kuarzo Argentina, the film narrates the complex and emotional relationship between a father and his son, Boris.
Boris is a guide to the Great Adventure in the Iguazú National Park, he lives in a jungle area and his story takes place in scenarios of the city of Puerto Iguazú, the jungle, the National Park, the hotel and different emblematic points of Iguazú.
And while the story unfolds, the Iguazú Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the world – dazzle as a backdrop, piercing the screen in an unparalleled natural setting.
“This production not only shows our landscapes, but also our people, our culture and the enormous potential of Iguazú as an international film location,” Lucas said.
“The premiere on a global platform like Netflix means global visibility and new opportunities for tourism, the work of our people and the growth of the audiovisual industry in the destination,” concluded the head of Iturem.
