The city of Iguazú, birthplace of the Iguazu Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World, was again chosen by Public TV as one of the “Encouragement Points” for the special coverage of the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup, which was played between the Argentine National Team and England, thus becoming one of the main national windows during the beginning of the Winter Holidays.

Through multiple live broadcasts from different emblematic points of the city, millions of viewers were able to get to know the landscapes, tourist attractions, gastronomy and hospitality that characterize Iguazú, in a proposal that combined the passion for football with the promotion of the destination.

The coverage began with live departures from the Milestone of the Three Borders, continued with the program “Estamos en Una”, hosted by Gabriel Corrado, and had new broadcasts from the city center in “Zona Mixta”, with the conduction of Greta Rodríguez. During the preview and the development of the match, the broadcasts also had as a stage the Peetonal Brasil, where tourists and neighbors shared the emotion of the meeting, and culminated with the festivities in the traditional sector of the Siete Bocas.

The broadcasts were made simultaneously with other breathing points distributed in different places in the country and abroad, such as the Obelisk, La Quiaca and different cities in the United States, positioning Iguazú as one of the scenarios chosen to reflect the accompaniment of the Argentines to the National Team.

In this regard, the president of ITUREM- Leopoldo Lucas, highlighted the importance of this action for the tourist promotion of the destination. “That Public TV has chosen Iguazú, and again, as one of the points of encouragement to accompany the National Team is a recognition of the work we have been doing to position our city as a natural destination, open all year round and recognized for the warmth of its people. Each transmission in a national media represents an opportunity to show the country and the world our Falls, our gastronomy, our services and, above all, the hospitality that distinguishes the people of Iguazu,” he said.

Lucas added that this type of action strengthens the destination’s promotion strategy in one of the moments of greatest tourist movement of the year.

“Taking advantage of events of great call such as football to show everything that Iguazú offers allows us to reach millions of people and continue consolidating the destination in the main markets. Permanent promotion is a fundamental tool to sustain the growth of tourism and generate more opportunities for the whole community,” he said.

The presence of Iguazú, birthplace of the Iguazu Falls – one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World, in the programming of Public TV is added to the different promotional actions that the destination develops during the year, strengthening its positioning as one of the main tourist destinations in Argentina.
