The cableway located in the Table Mountain National Park that takes visitors to the top of the Wonder of Nature is nominated for the first time to win the title of World’s Best Cable Car Ride, competing with cable cars from all over the world.
South Africa’s most famous cableway was chosen to compete in the Leading Cable Car Ride in the World in this year’s World Travel Awards.
The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) managing director, Wahida Parker, published the news on its social media and stated that “ten years ago, the citizens of South Africa rallied and responded to the call to vote for Table Mountain as a New7Wonder of Nature and their efforts secured us that title. We are once again calling on them to help us bring it home”.
Table Mountain is also nominated to become World’s Leading Tourist Attraction, and citizens intended to vote have time until midnight on the 25th of October 2021. The winners will be unveiled at WTA’s Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2021, which will take place in Moscow, Russia on 26th November 2021.
